I wrote an article in this forthcoming 2016 ‘Harvest of Great Mercy’ brochure. I talked about volunteer work in the house of the Lord, its benefits and how best one can identify his/her talents needed for service.
Been a channel of grace to our neighbors and the world at large is a great responsibility entrusted on all practicing and worshiping Christians.
“No one lights a lamb and puts it in a place where it will be hidden, or under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, so that those who come in may see the light.” Luke 11:33
Been a channel of grace means you already are filled with so much grace you shed some to others.
‘These graces are supernatural. Grace is assistance. Grace is divine help. Grace is the supernatural power to overcome challenges’, said Fr. Wisdom.
We all that attended the penitential service and received the sacrament of penance also received abundant grace. The Lord calls us continually to be outlets of grace by going for confession regularly.
‘One cannot give what one doesn’t possess.’
To be a channel of grace, you have to be a carrier of grace. As angel Gabriel visited our Mother Mary and announced, ‘Hail Mary, full of grace’, God wishes to visit each and every one of us daily with the same solemn greetings.
“When you are out of grace, you fail to function. When you fail to function you give the devil the opportunity to come and wreak havoc in your life”, said Fr. Wisdom.
We continued our 2016 ‘Harvest of Great Mercy’ family thanksgiving with 14 groups coming forward. Announcements rang out in church for parishioners willing to be food vendors on the harvest D – Day come 13th of November.
We pray that the good Lord who begun with us on this journey would see us through the end of this harvest in Jesus name, Amen.
Selah.
