Sunday 21st of August won’t be forgotten in a hurry as we were joined by his Lordship, Most Rev. Albert Ayinde Fasina. He celebrated mass as he prayed with us for a bountiful Harvest of Great Mercy 2016.

Just like a gathering of eagles, his Lordship rejoiced with one of the founding fathers of our beloved chaplaincy, Chief Odubajo as he added an extra year to his already beautifully decorated life.chief odubajo_family_saccakoka

In order to make the celebrations more grandeur, he accompanied with his family and friends danced to the altar for their family harvest thanksgiving. Parishioners came out in their numbers to join in appreciating God for all the mercies and provisions made available in their lives.

Also to celebrate with him was Rev. Fr. George Anibuike, our foremost and erstwhile chaplain who during his administrative and pastoral duties with us, totally transformed the chaplaincy both aesthetically, structurally and spiritually.

Earlier during the 7.00am mass, three groups danced to the altar in style and glamor for their family harvest thanksgiving.  Ms. Nnenna Anuforo and family, St. Rita Society and Catholic Youth Organization of Nigeria (CYON).

As the St. Augustine feast day celebration picks up momentum, the invited preacher,  Rev Fr. Nobert Opara had a lot to say on the pulpit.

He reminded us to strive to enter through the narrow gate as we don’t know the day or hour when we would cease to exist on earth [Luke 13:22-23].

“Christ consistently reminds us not to worry about when we would die, instead He always admonishes us to strive day and night, every minute and second of our life here on earth, to work very hard to make heaven”, he said.

St. Augustine Catholic Chaplaincy polo shirts were also on sale as the parishioners prepare to mark her saint’s feast day on the 28th of August, 2016. Various interesting, educative and spirit engaging programs have been lined up during the week to get everyone in tune with the celebrations.
