The 7.00 am mass started on a good note with the church packed full all thanks to the clement weather. Everyone seemed to be in high spirits to witness Christ in a special way today.
The church wardens were all beaming with smiles as they ushered parishioners into the church, all looked very well as the parish priest took center stage on the alter welcoming everyone to a good day.
The theme of the homily was ‘Our Gift to God, A Sincere Service to Him’. The parish priest, Rev. Fr. Wisdom Chikezie took his time in making his point clear to the parishioners on the need to serve God genuinely through service.
Below are a few points he made;
“Abraham’s gift to God was the blind faith he offered”
“My sacrifice to God is a humble spirit and a contrite heart”
“The mass is an acceptable thanksgiving offering to God”
Today, we witnessed one ‘Family Harvest Thanksgiving’. The family of Mr and Mrs Abiola Olanipekun danced graciously to the alter with family, friends and well wishers joining them to the alter as they thanked God for all His mercies.
After both masses (7.00 am and 9.30 am), parishioners were seen redeeming their pledges and also picking up family harvest thanksgiving envelops and covenant cards.
